Position: Health & Safety Manager – Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing
Location: Saint-Laurent, Montreal
Salary: $90K
Job Type: 9-month contract with a strong potential for permanency

Our client, a prominent biopharmaceutical manufacturer in Saint-Laurent, is seeking a Health & Safety Manager to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring compliance, driving safety initiatives, and fostering a culture of health and safety excellence within the company.

We would love to meet:
- At least 3 years of experience in environmental, health, and safety (EHS) management within a life science or manufacturing environment
- Degree or diploma in Occupational Safety and Health
- Strong training and communication abilities
- Ability to build trusted relationships with managers to advise, coach, and influence positive outcomes
- Proven experience in tracking and reporting health and safety performance
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with attention to detail and a methodical approach
- Proficiency in IT tools and systems
This role requires a high level of proficiency in English, as you will use it frequently for nearly every task. You’ll engage in internal team collaboration, support operations in other regions, build relationships with partners and stakeholders from diverse cultures, ensure legal and regulatory compliance, apply technical and specialized knowledge, facilitate training and development, and handle translation and interpretation needs.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all H&S legislation, provide operational support to management, and promote H&S awareness across the organization
- Lead risk assessments, incident investigations, and manage hazardous substances and contractor controls
- Coordinate emergency response plans, oversee statutory inspections, and ensure corrective actions are implemented
- Provide H&S training, conduct internal audits, and maintain communication with regulatory bodies to ensure ongoing compliance and safety improvements.
